It sucks getting old

My back has been hurting a LOT more these days... especially after these 30 minute runs...

must be getting old  :)

But I know I'm doing a good thing... just hope my back gets better/stronger/whatever it needs

Down another 1.6 this week.  Yeariversary is only 2 weeks away!!!

Chugging Away

Just call me the Little Engine that Could (and Can!  and Will!)

I had a 4.0 gain over a week ago that was really frustrating.  Yes, I did participate in Cake Day at school (aka Kimmie's cell project)... but I had allotted the points for it!  I guess it just goes to show how little tolerance my body has toward carbs!

But I kept at it, had a BIRTHDAY, and STILL lost 5.0 pounds this past week!  Woot!

I've really been going strong, making smart eating choices, kicking my butt on the treadmill at the gym, and I'm down an even 30 pounds...

I would LOVE to be down to 155 for my Yeariversary on March 26th - but I don't know if I can lose 6.4 pounds in 3 weeks... we'll see... I feel like I'm sweating it off at the gym, that's for sure!

Onward and upward...

Told ya I meant it :)

Two weeks ago I blogged and recommitted myself to this weight loss journey.

Here I am to say, see, told ya I meant it.

Last Saturday I lost 6.6 pounds.  This past Saturday I lost 1.2  - That puts my total loss back over 30 pounds...

My 1 year anniversary is in 6 weeks... can't wait to see what I've accomplished at that time.

Yeah 2012!

Where I've Been and Where I'm Going

Hi, my name is Katie and I'm a blog slacker.

"Hi, Katie!"

Okay, first the excuses.  The whole inspiration for this quest was looking good for Becky and Jason's wedding on 9/3/11.  Success.  At that point, I had lost 25.4 pounds and was doing great.  Shortly after, I was cast in a production of "Rent", the musical.  Great, more inspiration to look good... have to impress the fans.  :)

Then things went downhill.  As my theater friends will tell you, an intensive rehearsal schedule can kill you.  Once I hit tech week, my eating patterns went back to fast food extremes, I didn't have time to exercise, blah blah blah... Then Bob got really sick and eventually passed, then I was in NY for a stint, then it was the holidays, then I went on a cruise... blah blah blah.

So yeah, I was busy.  An excuse?  A reason?  Don't know, don't care - it's in the past.  At my best, I was down 34.6 pounds.  The last 2 months I gained a bunch of that back.  As I sit here typing, I've gained back 12 of those pounds.

The bad news - that sucks.  That was 12 pounds that took forever to take off.  It's 12 pounds that's gonna take ANOTHER forever to take off again.

The good news - I'm back on track.  Back at my WW meetings, back at Planet Fitness, back in a motivated mind set.

So now, I just need to keep my eyes on the prize and go.  I'm still 22.6 pounds lighter than I was when I started March 26, 2011.  I'm healthier, and I'm in better shape...

Now it's just time to keep going.  Time to be skinny.  Or at least sweetly slender.

10%

WHOHOO!!!

I never got around to posting last week - but last week I lost 3.8 pounds!!!

WHOHOO!!!

My calorie count was almost identical to the week before, as was my workouts... so I don't get it - but WHOHOO!!!

The only thing I started doing differently was taking Green Tea extract, CLA, and a multivitamin each day - hey, if that's it, rock on.

I celebrated in Weight Watchers for losing 10% of my body weight since I started March 26th.  I needed 19.1 pounds to hit that goal, and I am now 22 pounds down... WHOHOO!

Still keeping on.

Have I mentioned, WHOHOO!?!?!?!  :)

Almost 4 months

This coming Tuesday marks the 4 month mark in my journey.

Not much new to report.  I'm averaging about 1 pound a week weight loss.  My total lost is 18.2 pounds in 17 weeks.  Not terrible, not great.

I'm currently eating between 1100-1300 calories a day and working out 4-5 times a week.  How I only lose 1 pound a week is beyond me.  The other women at weight watchers continue to lose quicker than I do even though I'm busting my butt.

So, yes, I'm bummed - super bummed... I was hoping to be down 25-30 pounds at this point, but there is literally nothing more I can do.

So let's focus on the positive:
~ I've lost 18.2 pounds
~ My pants are starting to feel looser
~ I'm now able to run a full 5K again without stopping
~ I MUST be healthier

There's my update in a nutshell.  Keep on keepin' on.

Trying Something New

As of tomorrow, I am at my 3 month mark from when I began this journey (March 26, 2011).  Although I'm proud of the weight I've lost - I really wish it was more than 13.6 pounds.

But I really can't be upset with myself - there was really nothing I could've done better.  I've been busting my butt at the gym and COMPLETELY changed my entire nutrition plan... for the better.

But all that being said, it should be coming off faster and easier.

So I went to see a Weight Loss Specialist this past week.  I'm paying him a lot of money to help me lose quicker.  He's prescribed me blood work just to check everything out, and when I go back in two weeks he's giving me a metabolism test to determine my Resting Metabolic Rate.

In the meantime, he's put me on 1300 calories a day... regardless of exercise - 1300 calories, period.

Wow - that's hard!  Cutting down to 29 points was a challenge... this new program makes 29 points look like a flippin' feast!!!  Yippers.

But again, I'm doing it.

Thank goodness I'm so determined.  Thank goodness I have a bridesmaid dress to fit into in 2 months... it's truly keeping me going.

We'll see how this new plan works itself out... in theory I should be losing 2 pounds a week from here out - regardless of exercise... so hopefully my next post reflects that!

Fingers crossed...
